Washington, D.C. legalized recreational marijuana at midnight, with some caveats. Residents can now legally smoke marijuana and adults 21 and older can possess up to two ounces of weed and maintain up to six marijuana plants. However, sales of pot are still technically illegal. And don’t think about stepping foot onto the 29 percent of federally owned land in the District. Oh, and Republicans in Congress are still trying to fight the new law, even threatening to arrest D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser for implementing voter-approved Initiative 71.
